GURNARD

About two miles west of Cowes on the northern coast of the island, lies the village of Gurnard with just its main street that contains a few shops and houses. The beach is cut into two, Gurnard Marsh to the west where the cafe is and the Luck which is a stream running into the sea. Running west from Gurnard Marsh  by way of the cliffs you will arrive at Thorness Bay which is part of the IOW Coastal Path.

To the east is Gurnard Bay with its sandy beach and also a cafe, beware though as there is a lot of Blue Slipper clay here, there is also a nice little pub here above the green which looks out to sea.
